Representation

If the idea of managing your photo shoots, portfolio prints, comp cards, website, web portfolios, and applying to casting calls overwhelms you, you might want to consider hiring an agent or manager to represent you. While you do have to be extremely cautious, it can benefit you greatly if the manager or agent is truly looking out for your best interest.

At Erin Hession Photography, we not only photograph runway shoots, modeling portfolios and produce comp cards, but we also manage select models who have a desire to expand their creativity and have all of the necessary traits as listed on the “How to Become a Model” page. While we make no promises or guarantees, you can expect reliable feedback with honest answers and great portfolio shots to help you gain the recognition you deserve in the modeling industry.

As your manager, we do not ask that you sign any contracts with us, nor do we expect exclusivity. We understand that your career is on the line and if you choose to have multiple sources of leads coming in for you to help you market yourself more effectively, that is not a problem. We will help you determine what looks you need to complete your portfolio, provide your photo shoots for you if needed, design and print your comp cards as needed, connect you with an awesome website designer to help create your modeling website, link you to www.onemodelplace.com, where many of our models have experienced tens of thousands of hits in very short periods of time, and apply to casting calls for you when we find jobs that meet your specifications. When we’re able to find work for you, we charge a flat 10% finders fee, payable from the client upon completion of the job. At that point, we will cut your check for the remaining 90%. We only ask that you sign an Independent Contractor agreement for that particular job before we book it for you. Legally, this protects you as well as us and your client by forming an Independent Contractor relationship with us for bookings we receive for you.

As with any business, you should expect to invest not only time but money into marketing yourself to potential agencies, clients and casting directors. Realistically, we expect our models to purchase 15-20 8x10 portfolio prints to get their portfolios started, 100 comp cards, a platinum-level membership on OMP to obtain the most benefit of the site and pay for a personal website to help market themselves. This bare minimum investment is typically about $2,500 for someone who is just starting out and has absolutely nothing to show to casting agents.

If the $2,500 seems out of your reach, but you have the traits we’re looking for in the models we manage, we can always start small and help you grow, but we prefer to give your career a leg up on the competition by having all of the necessary items in place before applying for modeling jobs.
